New Acrylic Painting WIP: Girl 01

I painted most of the day. Still getting the hang of acrylics. Hate to show it cause it's kinda muddy and overworked, but oh well...

I'm going to move on. I've work and reworked this portrait several times over.

The medium currently frustrates/pisses me off greatly because I can't control it.

I like the colors a lot.

What brand acrylics are you using? Well...I guess the difference would be "is it runny or thick?," so I'll just ask if your acrylics are runny or thick. Or somewhere in between.

zenne: liquitex basic. cheap stuff. then i also bought some "Soft Body" that is a little more smooth, as well as more expensive. apparently theres a brand/type out there that works like oils, almost like it already has medium in it to make it dry slower easier to blend. i want some of that. right now i do use some glazing medium and it helps to add like photoshop at 20% opacity type color. lol. not as smooth though. i almost want to break out my airbrush set.

Attila!: i was about to be like its cause im sad in side, cause thats why i always used to paint portrait a couple years ago with a sense of melancholy, but im not sad anymore..i dont think. maybe now its just like cause i dont like drawing teeth. its tough. :D BTW... HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII long time. hope you are well!

this is nice, i wish I had the time to pursue more of the fine arts besides pencil. I tried watercolor a few years ago because I really like Andrew Wyeths works, but life got in the way and it was right back to the wacom. this looks good though what you have here, keep it up!

thanks Chadlonius! we'll see if i keep it up. who knows right? i mean well, and i hope i will, but it will also depend on how much i want to sacrifice on not getting paid not doing shirts. im trying to divvy up my time btwn curating, contests, painting, and find a good balance. i guarantee i wont make much money this year though. maybe thats a limiting belief... hrm... but realistically, if i paint alot, unless i sell em for thousands which i cant imagine happening, i wont. we'll see.

you should get back into watercolor yo! that would be tight.

So hope you enjoy critique:
I have noticed on a few of your pictures that the proportions are slightly distorted and I can't always pinpoint why, maybe weird angles of the body or something. Anyways with this one the right eye is smaller and raised up, I'm not sure if their is a reason for this, just wanted to point it out

Word Andrew. :D I didn't see how wonky the eyes were...
