Making Money as an Artist

I've had the general idea on how to achieve my future goals as an artist, and I probably believe it that its possibly to make a ton of money because I just see it in terms of numbers.

Found this article today that sums up the general idea of how easy (well fundamental idea of do this, get this) it would be to earn money as an artist. Its all a game of large numbers, marketing, etc etc.

I've also read up on Steve Pavlina's blogsite similar ideas, and one idea he has is not selling that one million dollar item, moreover, its about getting a dollar from a million people.
