This looks really beautiful already. One suggestion: sometimes less is more. Don't clutter it up too much. I really like the simplicity of the black and white.
ref was that narnia lion, among other googled lions.
jimiyofan#78: thanks for the praise. although, if you are a jimiyo fan, you know that cluttered and busy is quintessential jimiyo no? it is by order of my mental disorder of OCD that i busy up this image. i cant stop myself. ;j
"...you know that cluttered and busy is quintessential jimiyo..."
Very true, but you know that expression about how a woman should get dressed and put on her accessories, then look in the mirror and take one thing off before she goes out? Well I probably just butchered that expression but you get the gist of it and that's what I'm suggesting: finish it, let it sit for a while (the contest deadline may dictate how long), then look at it again and remove something.
How about a compromise? Make one "less is more" uncluttered b&w version and one over-the-top multi-color gold foil Jimiyo Signature Series version and submit them both? I think the Threadless rules allow that as long as the two versions are sufficiently different. If you can't submit both you can put both in Critiques and see what gets a better response.
Whichever you choose I'll be rooting for you. Good luck!
