Holy shit, this came out great! I guess I was wrong about B&W being better, these colors are amazing.

At the risk of being wrong AGAIN, let me suggest you lose the blood splatters or whatever the red is. The theme may warrant it but the public is mostly squeamish.

Also, as much as I love the blue feathers I think the blue interferes with the overall color palette. Everything else is kind of serene and that blue pops right out. That's probably intentional but for me the blue is just a distraction from all the other elements that go together in such a pleasing way.

One other general suggestion: stop saying you want to be a professional contest winner, even if you do. It comes off a bit arrogant. I'm sure you don't intend that, you don't seem arrogant otherwise, at all, but that statement sounds kind of in your face on a blog with other people who rarely get printed. It comes across sort of like, "I'm good enough to win often enough to make a living at this (unlike all the rest of you except Flying Mouse, maybe)". As you've seen, there are many talented artists who get printed less than 10% of the time so to say you want to win maybe 30% of the time implies that you think you can do what almost none of them can. There is nothing wrong with WANTING to be a contest pro, but saying it sounds bad.

Wow. It's amazing to see the development of a piece of work. I really love the colors in this one.

Hey jimiyo jimiyay! I hope you're having fun "plussing (spl?)" it.. I'd love to see it on a brighter shirt colour :)

I love checking your blog every so often. I wish I was artistic myself, but alas I am just a spectator. Your blog really shows insight to the artist's mind. :)

Regarding your #78th fan, I think it's great that you say you want to be a professional contest winner! Everyone has to aspire to something and it's even better when it happens to be something you love doing. It does NOT make you seem full of yourself in the least bit. Good luck and what a wonderful way to make money!

thanks to all of you for commenting.

ameeee - any color preference?

kat - i thought if la-la-land existed, it would be awesome if we were reincarnated as cats, and we could roam the earth hunting mice and taunting lizards and thing, jumping, scratching, clawing, and on occassion come across a friendly who would give us milk and canned tuna. getting high as cats on catnip might be interesting too. play fights would be cool too, and we could play 'hey look at me, im driving invisible IROC-Z' or 'look at me, invisible life saber!.' take naps in the sunlight...

i've decided my main focus is not necessarily winning contests. it seems i had let winning contest dictate the content. rather my new endeavor is to just stay true to my own artistic direction with little influence from contest preference tendencies, etc. winning or trying to win, seems to be an evil thing, unless the fight is against oneself, and id like to challenge myself to do things i am afraid to do because of the complexity. we'll see.

if you make comments, ill comment back. otherwise, still, no more words in the main blog.

thanks everyone.

Hey jimi - perhaps one of the colours you use in the design? The blue? I'm not too sure - I'm very unhelpful today! Sorry for being redundant!
