Nashville, TN - February 28, 2007 - CRAFT: A Creative Community announces its first "Second Sunday Fair" of 2007, to be held on Sunday, March 11th, from 11 am to 5 pm in the rear parking lot of the Lipstick Lounge in East Nashville.
The event will feature over twenty local artisans presenting and selling original hand-crafted items and artwork at affordable prices. Knitted, crocheted, and quilted goods, clothing and accessories, jewelry, wall hangings, paintings, drawings, prints, papercraft, and many more items will be available.
Visitors to the Second Sunday Fair will find Say Ooh Designs' line of knit / felted purses and clutches, hand-knotted precious and semi-precious jewelry by Margo Massey Designs, Beth Howard Studio's "brightly colored fabric treasures for home and person", J.K. Lee's intricate decoupage meldings of image and word, and innovative clothing from Jimiyo Art and Apparel, alongside a wonderful variety of other handcrafted products. Check out http://www.myspace. com/craft_ creative_ community for images and profiles from some of the fair's featured vendors.
Drawing their operating ethic from the simple maxim "Life is too short for ugly stuff", the artisans of CRAFT: A Creative Community have banded together to establish a regular venue for promoting local craft. After a successful fall run of monthly fairs behind the Radio Cafe, just across the street, the organizers have decided to expand the event to the Lipstick Lounge parking lot at 1400 Woodland Street in order to accommodate more vendors. With increasing support from the local craft community, the organizers are inspired to establish a long-running event, much like monthly craft fairs in other parts of the country, that serves as a "home base" for artisans to regularly share their wares with the general public.
On March 11th, stroll, bike, or drive down to the first Second Sunday Fair of the season. Support your local crafter (or several of them) and the spirit of community!
